Diamond All Natural Soy Candle Giveaway

It's Giveaway Time!!!!
KAT L. details on how to receive your candle have been sent to your yahoo e-mail account.

In appreciation for all of LuvMyKynxx blog readers, I'm hosting a giveaway on behalf of Diamond Candles.  I love burning beautifully scented candles and was extended the opportunity to share my love for them with you all.

Aside from the excitement of knowing a ring wrapped in gold foil worth $10, $100, $1,000 or $10,000 is included in EVERY Diamond Candle, I was pleased to see how earth-friendly Diamond Candle company is.  When I received my candle it was packaged in a recyclable box which held it very securely during shipping, as shown below...

 Quality thick slow burning wick
Takes about 10 hours to get to the ring but for the impatient folk, you can always spoon it out!

What I really like about Diamond Candles is that they're all natural SOY candles.  No toxic chemicals will be inhaled while burning the candle and it leaves a very strong fragrance even when burned, which is what really counts. The photographs above are of the candle I chose, Sunwashed.  The scent is very crisp and clean, kind of a "soapy" scent I guess would be the best way for me to describe it.  I choose candles based on 2 things, it's aroma-therapeutic benefits and the color of the candle.

Here is the description of the Sunwashed scent from Diamond

Remember when you were a kid and you would jump in a big pile of clean and warm fluffy sheets, burying yourself underneath? Well we took all those warm sheets out of the dryer and put them in a candle jar. Okay, well maybe not really. But you get the idea. It's Sunwashed; give it a try.

No Braid Updo w/ Extensions & Secret Styling Protien Gel Review

About a month ago I had the pleasure of meeting Walter Smith, owner of Secret Styling, LLC on Facebook.  He reached out, extending an opportunity to review several of his products in return for my feedback while using them on clients. I agreed decided to try the alcohol free Secret Styling Protein Styling Gel on a client requesting an elegant up-do without braids which calls for a sleek, shiny, and smooth finish.

Deionized Water, PVP?VA, Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Polysorbate-20, Soluble Collagen, Hydrolyzed Keratin Protein, Panthenol, Fragrance, Methylisothiazolinone Caramel, and Tetisodium EDTA.

Starting with clean, conditioned, heat free stretched hair, I parted her hair from ear to ear at the back of the ear, placing the section into a pony tail.

This brand also comes in a green package. The yellow pack shown above has double the hair from the green.

Hair comes in strips. The key to it looking natural is to separate the hair before you add it to your hair. It blends much better unless you're going for a highly textured finish. This particular style called for the hair to mimic blown out Afro textured hair.

Once the hair has been stretched the appearance now looks like a blown out or very stretched Afro hair.

I used 4 strips of the Puffy Screw hair per section.

*Extension hair is then wrapped around the elastic pony tail holder and twisted in with the clients natural hair.

*Note: You may also opt to add it after starting the twist with natural hair first, twisting in the extension hair as you go instead of wrapping the extension hair around the elastic as shown above.

Close up to view parts.

I really liked the lightness of this gel, yet strong hold. It left the clients hair with a brilliant shine!

Once the part was from ear to ear coming from the top of the clients head, I parted the front section in a diagonal part from the hairline to the ear to ear part, as shown below. I then began twisting and pinning each twist to the clients head using ball tipped open ended bobby pins.  This is where the stylist creativity comes into play or if you are a Naturalista who styles her own hair.

Product Review: Naturally Amari

One of the many blessings in being a natural hair stylist is meeting clients who share the same passion as I for hair care.  I had the pleasure of styling a client named Tyeisha Haskins  a couple of months ago, owner of Naturally Amari  natural hair care products.  All of her products are pH balanced and have no synthetic ingredients in them.  After visiting her [ETSY website] I was impressed by all of the goodies she had for sale.  I'd always wanted to try Rhassoul Clay Cocoa Butter Deep Natural Hair Conditioner as treatment for my hair and decided to order it along with a large bottle of Naturally Amari Flaxseed Gel.

 Tyeisha Haskins~Naturally Amari
Hair styled by me for Kynxx Natural Hair Styling

I received my goodies within a week.  I was in awe at the beauty of the packaging and called her immediately to thank her for the thank you/ instruction card she included with my order.

Since I didn't use the Rhassoul Clay right after they arrived so as the instruction card stated I placed them in my freezer until it was time for me to use them.
 Smelled just like chocolate candy!

Boil water and pour over frozen clay bars. Allow them to sit in water for a few minutes and begin to stir the clay and water until the clay bars melt.

After about 10 minutes of sitting in hot water stirred every minute or so.

Add boiling hot water 1/4 cup at a time and stir until the Rhassoul Clay has a pudding like consistency.

I started out by clarifying my kynxx with Bentonite Clay hair treatment (want to know how to clarify your hair? [CLICK HERE]).  By doing so, I made sure my hair would get the full benefits of the Rhassoul Clay by ridding my hair of any possible product build up.

I parted my hair  down the middle and started with the back of my hair, applying the clay from my roots working the clay down to the ends.

The Results:

I left the Rhassoul Clay on for about an hour and rinsed it in the shower.  I was SO pleased with the results.  My hair felt so light and fluffy soft after it was rinsed out.  It was untangled and I was able to run my fingers through with very little resistance.

My curls popped again, my hair had a natural sheen to it, the elasticity had improved, and my hair smelled so sweet!  I will definitely be adding Rhassoul Clay by Naturally Amari to my deep treatment list of thumbs ups!!

....still not done!

I have to share the results of the Flaxseed Gel I used on one of my clients two strand twists.

As you can see, nothing but natural goodness is inside of this bottle!

Not heavy or tacky.  Left my client with shiny, well defined twists.  I absolutely loved it on her hair.

Stop by and "like" Naturally Amari on Facebook.
